Overview:
BinAI helps users identify whether items belong in recycling or trash. We keep data collection to a minimum and do not sell personal data.

Data We Access:• Camera: Used to scan items and barcodes/QR codes. Images are used only to provide results. We do not store photos after classification.• Location (While Using): Optional, to find nearby drop-off sites. Location data is not stored on our servers.• Notifications: Optional, for pickup reminders.• Diagnostics: Basic crash/usage data may be provided by Apple to improve reliability.What We Don’t Collect:• No account or profile is required.• No contacts, photos library, health data, or background location.• No third-party advertising SDKs; we do not sell or share personal data for advertising.How We Use Data:• To provide core features (scanning, drop-off finder, reminders).• To maintain and improve app performance and accuracy.Sharing:• We do not sell personal data.• We do not share data with third parties except service providers needed to operate the app (e.g., Apple frameworks) and only as necessary.Retention & Security:• Transient data (camera frames, location queries) is not retained after use.• If logs are collected, they are retained only as long as needed for troubleshooting and then deleted. We use reasonable safeguards to protect data.Your Choices:• You can deny Camera, Location, or Notifications in Settings; core scanning requires Camera access to function.Children’s Privacy:• BinAI is suitable for users of all ages and is intended for a general audience. We do not require an account and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe we have collected a child’s information, contact [email protected] and we will delete it.• Images used for scanning are processed only to provide results and are not stored.Changes:• We may update this policy. We’ll change the “Effective date” and post updates on this page.
